The progress throughout the second half of this semester has been slower than anticipated, but my work has experienced some much-needed changes. First of all, I've been learning how to improve my realism through Danny (Ferrell)'s help to push the uncanniness of my project, as seen below.
She now looks a lot more like me.
Also, following my presentation with the Art and Design Faculty, I followed some of their suggestions and modified the pose of my self-portrait by shifting my arms outward. Below is one of many mockups I created before settling for the final pose and making the wooden arms. Getting that done has been more of a sculptural process, but I've enjoyed the learning experience. I am also very fond of the woodshop now.
